Care on Location Deploys Telehealth Suite to Increase Access to Care In Rural Colorado

For Immediate Release – Fort Lyon, CO, August 2019 – Colorado Coalition for the Homeless has engaged with Colorado-based telehealth company, Care on Location, to use telemedicine to increase access to medical care for residents of the Fort Lyon Supportive Residential Community.  The Fort Lyon Supportive Residential Community provides recovery oriented transitional housing and services to up to 300 homeless or formerly homeless persons in rural southeastern Colorado.

A telemedicine suite has been installed to allow local staff to conduct a live medical exam to a distant medical provider who otherwise would be difficult to have available on-site. The telemedicine suite uses secure video and connected digital devices such as cameras and stethoscopes to provide complete virtual medical care for a whole host of conditions.

The Stout Street Health Center in Denver, who normally provides the doctor that must travel hours each way to this facility on limited days will now, with improved efficiency, be able to expand the number of days that a medical provider is available via telemedicine at the Fort Lyon location.

Care On Location, a winner of the 2018 Prime Health Challenge, is focused on increasing access to care for Medicaid and underserved populations through telehealth technology deployment and care provision.   Further information about telehealth partnership programs and direct patient care services can be obtained through their website at careonlocation.com or email at info@careonlocation.com.
